Culture Marketing Manager, China

What you’ll do:
We are currently looking to strengthen our China Marketing team with a Culture Marketing Manager who will be responsible for the planning and execution of the China Music Strategy, as well as maintaining and expanding our local music and culture network in China. The role will require deep cooperation with local artists, music and culture community partners and local market stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Operations and eCom. The role will manage the China local community events, activations and always on programming and pilot projects. The position is based in Shanghai, China but will require travel to our key music cities. The role reports to the China Marketing Manager, currently based in Shenzhen, China.
Roles & Responsibilities:
•Develop and execute Marshall’s Music Strategy and key city focus in China market. Responsible for artist liaison for Marshall Group in China market.
•Identify partnerships and relevant high profile local musician endorsement opportunities, from grassroot to major, that are relevant to drive our brand positioning.
•Build and manage strong relationships across local music industry including but not limited to artists, labels, venues and producers etc.
•Promote Marshall amplifier category and support MI product launch and promotions.
•Lead campaign related music production and events with live shows included based on Local Consumer plan to promote Marshall brand/ products. Work with local partners on execution and communication.
•Work with global central team to manage MI seeding samples in China market and local translations process and WoW.
•Attend Music and Culture activations, assist Music and Culture, AV/Tech and Operations team to make sure artists, staff and guests have the best experience.
•Inspire next generation of musicians with inspiring and relevant ambassadors and content for China market
•Work with Global, Regional Culture teams as well as Marshall Records team to advocate for Chinese talent endorsement.
Who we’re looking for:
•Minimum 6 years of artist / community management or experience in music, culture or community teams, advantageous if experience is in both an agency and in-house setting. Experience working across categories in lifestyle, music brands, labels and media.
•Acute awareness of music trends and a conversational knowledge of nightlife, live music, art in all its forms and mediums, dance, fashion and culture in China, nationally and globally.
•Proven experience of planning music or culture strategy and demonstrable experience of an integrated approach to community and or producing live concerts. Working knowledge of Audio Production and Musicianship best practices.
•Strong, established network in China in the fields of music and culture. Including but not limited to DJs, Bands, Promoters, Talent Agents, Talent Managers, Record Label contacts, PR contacts etc. Understand how to work with partners from music industry.
•Was a guitarist/musician or having knowledge about guitar and amps.
•Know how a commercial brand works. Experience in working within a matrix organization structure, across internal business units and external partners.
You probably have the following experiences & skills:
•Strong artist and local community contacts; sound knowledge of Chinese music landscape and industry way of working
•Strong story-telling experience to musicians and audiences.
•Project management capabilities and experience in managing creative and production resources. Strong collaborative mindset
•Great Chinese and English writing, editing, proof-reading skills
•Strategic self-starter who can drive a music strategy from planning to execution
•Goal oriented and thrives in a fast-paced work environment
•Experience working with marketing tools and software including but not limited to Monday.com, Meltwater, figma, Miro, MS teams functions etc.
•Experience of managing and optimizing budgets
