Software QA & Test Engineer

Right now, we need to strengthen our R&D team in Milton Keynes with a Software QA & Test Engineer.
What you’ll do:
You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of embedded software by developing and executing hands-on and automated tests, gathering test data, and debugging issues in collaboration with other engineers.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Design, develop, and execute testing procedures, both automated and manual, to ensure software quality across software and digital hardware products.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand product and testing requirements.
Write automated testing scripts to your own specifications, using provided APIs from the software team.
Working closely with the Software Team to ensure support for testing is integrated throughout the code-base.
Identify and track software defects, ensuring they are clearly documented and resolved. Both in development and releases.
Work within CI systems to ensure ongoing testing of software.
Perform functional, regression, performance, and security testing to validate software quality.
Drive the quality of released software through the implementation and support of a comprehensive QA system over the course of several projects.
You probably have the following experiences & skills:
Hands-on experience writing and executing tests for embedded software or firmware.
Proficiency in Python and ideally the C programming language.
Proven knowledge of DevOps and Continuous Integration.
Familiarity with hardware–software integration is a benefit.
Understanding of Computer Science through a relevant degree or professional experience.
Experience working in a team on hardware projects.
Great communication skills and a meticulous approach to documentation.
