Brand Protection Specialist, China

What you’ll do:
This position combines online monitoring, enforcement actions, and cross-border collaboration to fight counterfeiting, prevent IP infringement and ensure product integrity. This also includes support with product authentication, and close collaborations with customs, external law firms and enforcement partners, as well as internal stakeholders, including Sales, Operations and the rest of the Legal department.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- In alignment with Legal Director, IP & Brand Protection, and the local team, set and implement local strategies for online brand protection.
- Cooperate with local colleagues to implement and streamline overall local brand protection strategy, particularly in online to offline matters.
- Conduct online monitoring and enforcement to identify and remove counterfeit or unauthorized products.
- Investigate counterfeits leads, manage test purchases, support product authentication assessments, ensuring accurate verification of product legitimacy.
- Assist with customs training and enforcement initiatives in China and Hong Kong.
- Build relationships with other brands for the purpose of joint enforcement and cooperation in Mainland China and Hong Kong.
- Contribute to legal innovation to improve work processes and ensure proper administration and maintenance of documentation, etc.
- Cooperate cross-functionally and cross-border with colleagues in other regions as part of a global team.
- Handle administrative tasks related to brand protection programs and enforcement actions.
- Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to strengthen brand protection strategies and initiatives.
The work will include travel and can at times require overtime.

This role will include handling large amounts of data, and as a structured and analytical individual, you will process the data and manage to find the relevant datasets and connect dots and see patterns. To succeed in this position, you should be business-oriented, while maintaining integrity, results driven, strategic and pragmatic.
We are a small team, and believe in sharing experiences and helping each other, and want to supplement the team with a highly collaborative colleague, who enjoys building and fostering professional relationships with team members, internal stakeholders, external partners and service providers.
You probably have the following experiences & skills:
- No law degree required, but at least 3-5 years of experience in brand protection, IP enforcement, e-commerce monitoring, or legal/IP support.
- Specialized in IP management and brand protection, with substantial experience in Mainland China.
- Experience in overseas IP and Brand Protection work is a plus.
- Proficiency with monitoring technologies, e-commerce platforms, data analytics and/or AI tools.
- Excellent communication skills for working with teams, partners and authorities.
- Highly organised, proactive and adaptable in a fast-paced and Global environment.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin is a must, proficiency in other Asian language is a strong plus.
- Regional knowledge and cultural awareness in China and Hong Kong is a strong plus.
