Marketing Manager - Japan

Right now, we are looking to strengthen our APAC Regional Marketing team with a driven and experienced Marketing Manager - Japan, who will focus on developing and driving the Marshall brand in the Japanese market. The role will require deep cooperation with global stakeholders and local market stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Operations, and eCom. The position will be based in Tokyo, reporting to our APAC Marketing Director, based in Stockholm, Sweden.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Deliver Local Consumer Plan for Japan, aligned with Regional Consumer Plan.
- Establish and manage relationships with external agencies and partners in Japan, along with relevant internal stakeholders across both the Musical Instruments (MI) and Consumer Electronics (CE) businesses.
- Plan, execute, and report all marketing activities across PR, Digital, and Print Media investments, as well as consumer-facing Event Activations and the Japan Content Strategy.
- Manage and support the Culture Marketing Manager in Japan to drive Music Strategy, local ambassadors, and sponsorships.
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager in Japan, distribution partners, and the Channel Marketing team to achieve both brand and commercial goals.
- Partner with our APAC Channel Marketing and global eCom teams to drive best-in-class Consumer Plan implementation across all relevant sales and retail channels.
- Support the Marketing Director, APAC in representing the Japanese market in all relevant global and regional forums.
Who we’re looking for:
You are a passionate marketing professional with strong planning and execution skills across PR, event activations, and media buying in Japan. You have an acute understanding of the Japanese market, culture, and consumer behaviour, including key platforms, media, and trends. You excel in a fast-paced work environment and have strong interpersonal skills to manage global, regional, and local stakeholders.
You probably have the following experiences & skills:
- 5 or more years of marketing experience in global lifestyle, consumer electronics, music, or luxury brands in Japan.
- Experience in planning and implementing brand marketing campaigns in Japan, both offline and online (eCom experience is a plus).
- Proven track record of brand management and adapting global brands for local marketing execution.
- Native or working proficiency in both English and Japanese
